Dog Blog #7 8/24/10

Today, in honor of Megan Sharpe's Birthday, Ben decided to cancel one of our practices! Okay, not really in honor of her birthday.... but we did have only one practice today in order to go out and do some fun team bonding this afternoon. In the morning, we came in bright and early at 8:30 and went straight to work on hitting, blocking, and some defense. We played a game called Nev's pepper, which really brought the competition between the hitters and our defenders. We ended the practice with a few scrimmage games, and although it was a really tough morning we were finished early so it was nice to be out of the gym before it really started getting hot!

At 1:30, we met back up at the ROTC repelling tower to do some teamwork exercises with Colonel R. He split us up into two groups and sent us through a variety of obstacles where we were required to work together, come up with a strategy, and complete the challenge in under the specified time limit. Except for a few time penalties, a close mishap with a bridge crumbling over a river (sorry again Casey!), and a tough break on the last obstacle we did a pretty good job all working together.

We ended the day by watching some film and talking about the games from the weekend. All in all it was a pretty fun day and I know everyone is excited to bring the energy and go in tomorrow for our last set of two-a-days plus lifting!
